Structured around 11 Global Business Units, Rhodia is the partner of major players in the automotive, electronics, flavors and fragrances, health, personal and home care markets, consumer goods and industrial markets. Rhodia employs around 14 250 people worldwide and generated sales of €6.17 billion in 2011.

Rhodia was first established in Japan in 1967 as Nichizui Rhodia and renamed Rhône-Poulenc Japan in 1978, becoming Rhodia Japan in 1996.

Rhodia has enhanced its historical position as a sales and marketing arm by sourcing an increasing number of products from Asian entities. For two of its key technologies - rare earths and surfactants - it has established strong alliances with local partners to provide a fully integrated approach to R&D, sales and production.
Rhodia Japan
Rhodia Japan imports and markets products from most of Rhodia's business units around the world and is the vehicle for sales of third party products. In addition, Rhodia Japan provides shared services to our joint ventures, including finance, HR management, legal affairs and communications.

Rhodia Nicca
Rhône-Poulenc Nicca was established in 1996 as a joint venture with Nicca Chemical to develop and market surfactants and functional additives. In 1998, the joint venture company was renamed Rhodia Nicca.
The products developed and marketed by Rhodia Nicca are used in various industrial markets, including personal and oral care, fabric and home care, industrial solutions and agro formulations. Through its R&D activities, Rhodia Nicca develops new products meeting the specific demands and requirements of the Japanese market.
Anan Kasei
Anan Kasei is a joint venture between Rhodia and Santoku Corporation, created to develop rare earth materials for global market as well as the Japanese market.
Anan Kasei offers innovative, high-performance products that provide efficient and economic solutions for the manufacturing of numerous materials for use in electronics, catalysis and various other markets.
